The Story
In the Chinese zodiac, the Horse holds the seventh position — high noon, mid-summer, the hour when work gets done. People born under it are said to share the animal’s gifts: restless energy, warm stubbornness, the refusal to stand still while something needs doing. The West has its own version of the same horse — the stallion of open ranges and finish lines, the animal every culture somehow agreed means progress. The Meiba (名馬, “renowned horse”) glass cuts that spirit at rest: the poised silhouette, head high, weight gathered — the calm before the next gallop. It’s for the Horse-year people, the ones who never quite stop, and the moment at the end of the day when they finally do.
Craft & Material
Hand-cut crystal with raised horse relief, presented in a wooden box. The silhouette reads clearly at arm’s length — a study in contained power.
Make It Theirs
For Horse-year birthdays (1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014 — and every twelve years after), horse lovers, and the person who’s been galloping all year. Engrave a name or date on the base.
FAQ
What does Meiba mean?
“Renowned horse” — the celebrated steed of Eastern tradition. This is our Zodiac Animal line’s first release; eleven more animals are coming.
I don’t know their Chinese zodiac. Ask their birth year — the cycle repeats every twelve. Or play it safe with the Western zodiac glass; we won’t tell.
Each pattern is drawn by hand, mapping how light will travel through every facet.
Diamond wheels carve the primary facets. One wrong angle and the piece is lost.
Each facet is refined by hand. Depth, edge, angle - adjusted until geometry becomes art.
Progressive abrasives bring out optical clarity. Light passes through without distortion.
Our crystal isn't just glass. It's K9 optical crystal — selected for its exceptional clarity, brilliance, and precision.
When we set out to create a better whiskey glass, we looked beyond tradition and focused on one thing: light. We wanted a crystal that could reveal the natural color and character of your whiskey through every precisely cut facet.
The result is crystal chosen for clarity and brilliance, shaped by hand and polished by skilled craftsmen. Its optical properties allow light to travel through the glass beautifully, while its hardness supports the crisp, precise cuts that define every Cristamor design.
