The Story
There’s an old East Asian legend every ambitious child grows up hearing: the koi that swims upstream and climbs the waterfall is transformed into a dragon. Not the strongest fish — the one that wouldn’t turn around. For centuries, the koi has been the patron animal of persistence: students hang its image before exams, founders keep it on desks, and every family with a stubborn dreamer in it knows the fish by heart. The Taikan Rose Koi cuts that legend at the climax moment — the koi in full rose-pink power, mid-climb, rendered in the deepest color-work in our catalog. It’s the glass for people mid-waterfall: the ones still climbing, still refusing, not yet dragons. Give it to them at the bottom.
Craft & Material
The most commanding piece of our Rose Koi series: full-body koi in rose and gold crystal, deep-relief carved, with layered wave work. Presented in the Grand line’s wooden box.
The Opening Ritual
Box open, glass to the light. The rose body reads pink in daylight and ember-gold by lamplight — two fish for two kinds of evening.
FAQ
What does the koi symbolize? Persistence — the legendary fish that climbs the waterfall and becomes a dragon. The patron animal of “not yet, but soon.”
