Fluorite is the world’s most colorful mineral — geologists have counted specimens that hold four distinct colors in one stone — and it has one more trick: it glows under ultraviolet light, so brightly that the phenomenon of fluorescence is literally named after it. Victorian collectors kept it in cabinets like a tame piece of the night sky. The Amethyst Fluorite cut borrows the gem’s signature banding — purple flowing into clear, layered like the mineral actually grows — and sets it in faceted crystal. Does it actually glow?
The glass doesn’t — the mineral it’s named for does, under UV. (The word “fluorescence” comes from fluorite. Now you have that fact forever.)
How is it different from the Amethyst Star Lattice?
The Star Lattice is one clean purple, gem-style. The Fluorite is banded — layered purples like the mineral grows in nature.
