Your glass is hand-cut and carefully packed in China. We say so on the product page, at checkout, and in your order confirmation — because we're proud of how it's made, and honest about how it travels.
The Pattern’s Story
The East and West each imagined the same bird, centuries apart. Japan’s *hō-ō* appears only in times of peace — a creature so selective about the world’s worthiness that its arrival counts as a blessing. The West’s phoenix does the opposite: it waits for the fire, then rises. Two traditions, one shape, and together they cover everything a life asks of you — the grace to bless good years, and the nerve to outlive the bad ones. Cut into azure crystal with an amber glow rising through the base (the fire, waiting), this glass is the Kyoto Collection’s high note: the bird that means something in every language that has ever burned.

FAQ
Where is it made?
Cut in partner workshops in China; the phoenix is one of the rare symbols the East and West invented independently — and identically. We craft with the same honesty.
What’s the difference between the two phoenixes?
Japan’s hō-ō signals peace; the Western phoenix rises from fire. This glass carries both meanings.
Each pattern is drawn by hand, mapping how light will travel through every facet.
Diamond wheels carve the primary facets. One wrong angle and the piece is lost.
Each facet is refined by hand. Depth, edge, angle - adjusted until geometry becomes art.
Progressive abrasives bring out optical clarity. Light passes through without distortion.
Our crystal isn't just glass. It's K9 optical crystal — selected for its exceptional clarity, brilliance, and precision.
When we set out to create a better whiskey glass, we looked beyond tradition and focused on one thing: light. We wanted a crystal that could reveal the natural color and character of your whiskey through every precisely cut facet.
The result is crystal chosen for clarity and brilliance, shaped by hand and polished by skilled craftsmen. Its optical properties allow light to travel through the glass beautifully, while its hardness supports the crisp, precise cuts that define every Cristamor design.
