The Pattern’s Story
Asanoha — the hemp leaf — has been cut, woven, and painted into Japanese design for over a thousand years. Its six-pointed geometry echoes both snowflake and star, but its meaning is older and warmer: the hemp plant grows fast and straight, so parents dressed their children in asanoha patterns with one quiet wish — *grow strong, grow quickly, be well.* It appeared on samurai undergarments before battle and on newborns’ kimonos at their first shrine visit. When light crosses the cobalt-and-amber facets of this glass, you’re holding the same geometry once stitched into a wish for someone’s whole life.
Craft & Material
Japanese-inspired pattern, cut with modern precision. Each glass is cut and polished in our partner workshops, then individually inspected — weight, rim, clarity — before it’s packed. Deep cobalt body rising into a warm amber base. Holds 6.8 oz / 200 ml.
A Gift That Means Something
Give it to someone growing into something new — a graduation, a first job, a fresh start. Add a hand-engraved name or date to make it theirs alone.
FAQ
Where is it made?
Our crystal is cut in partner workshops in China’s glassmaking heartland. The asanoha pattern originates from Japan — we say so proudly, and we price honestly, with no middlemen.
Each pattern is drawn by hand, mapping how light will travel through every facet.
Diamond wheels carve the primary facets. One wrong angle and the piece is lost.
Each facet is refined by hand. Depth, edge, angle - adjusted until geometry becomes art.
Progressive abrasives bring out optical clarity. Light passes through without distortion.
Our crystal isn't just glass. It's K9 optical crystal — selected for its exceptional clarity, brilliance, and precision.
When we set out to create a better whiskey glass, we looked beyond tradition and focused on one thing: light. We wanted a crystal that could reveal the natural color and character of your whiskey through every precisely cut facet.
The result is crystal chosen for clarity and brilliance, shaped by hand and polished by skilled craftsmen. Its optical properties allow light to travel through the glass beautifully, while its hardness supports the crisp, precise cuts that define every Cristamor design.
