The Story
The West drew its dragon coiled on gold, breathing fire at anyone who came close — a monster to be defeated. The East drew the same creature moving through clouds, bringing the rain that fed the harvest — a power to be honored. Same scales, same wings, opposite verdicts. The Majestic Dragon glass cuts the Eastern verdict: the dragon in full flow, scales and whiskers carved in deep relief, surrounded by the clouds it carries water through. This is the collector’s piece of our Grand line — the one that starts conversations in any language, because every culture on earth has an opinion about dragons, and they all want to hold this one.
Craft & Material
Deep-relief hand carving in layered crystal; full-body dragon with cloud work. Presented in the Grand line’s wooden presentation box. One of the deepest cuts in our entire catalog.
The Opening Ritual
Slide the box open. Lift the glass to the light. Watch every scale catch fire in sequence — this is the ten seconds the gift is really about.
FAQ
Is this Japanese or Chinese dragon tradition? Both — the rain-bringing dragon is shared across East Asian cultures. We cut the shared one, respectfully, and say where it’s made.
How deep is the carving? Deep enough that the dragon casts its own shadows inside the glass. Photos undersell it; that’s why we say “hold it to the light.”
Each pattern is drawn by hand, mapping how light will travel through every facet.
Diamond wheels carve the primary facets. One wrong angle and the piece is lost.
Each facet is refined by hand. Depth, edge, angle - adjusted until geometry becomes art.
Progressive abrasives bring out optical clarity. Light passes through without distortion.
Our crystal isn't just glass. It's K9 optical crystal — selected for its exceptional clarity, brilliance, and precision.
When we set out to create a better whiskey glass, we looked beyond tradition and focused on one thing: light. We wanted a crystal that could reveal the natural color and character of your whiskey through every precisely cut facet.
The result is crystal chosen for clarity and brilliance, shaped by hand and polished by skilled craftsmen. Its optical properties allow light to travel through the glass beautifully, while its hardness supports the crisp, precise cuts that define every Cristamor design.
