The Pattern’s Story
Two images define Japan to the world: the perfect cone of Fuji, and the great wave with its claws of foam — printed, painted, tattooed, and admired for two centuries. They belong together. In the most famous print ever made, the wave rises to swallow fishing boats while Fuji sits small and unmoved in the distance, exactly where it has sat for a hundred thousand years. That’s the joke the artist hid in his masterpiece: storms are loud, mountains are calm, and both are forms of forever. This glass holds both — the wave wrapping the body, the mountain rising through warm amber at the base — a pair that turns with every slow pour.

FAQ
Where is it made?
Cut in partner workshops in China; Fuji and the great wave are Japan’s most iconic images. We craft honestly and price the same way.
Is this the wave from the famous print?
Inspired by it — the ukiyo-e tradition of Hokusai’s era, reimagined in crystal.
Each pattern is drawn by hand, mapping how light will travel through every facet.
Diamond wheels carve the primary facets. One wrong angle and the piece is lost.
Each facet is refined by hand. Depth, edge, angle - adjusted until geometry becomes art.
Progressive abrasives bring out optical clarity. Light passes through without distortion.
Our crystal isn't just glass. It's K9 optical crystal — selected for its exceptional clarity, brilliance, and precision.
When we set out to create a better whiskey glass, we looked beyond tradition and focused on one thing: light. We wanted a crystal that could reveal the natural color and character of your whiskey through every precisely cut facet.
The result is crystal chosen for clarity and brilliance, shaped by hand and polished by skilled craftsmen. Its optical properties allow light to travel through the glass beautifully, while its hardness supports the crisp, precise cuts that define every Cristamor design.
